Our Plan and Our 4 P'S
Product:
For our product research we looked at what makes consumers buy more of a product. In the mobile phone industry it comes down to Three major things. Those are associations, hardware and reliability, and then finally reputation. So when you think about buying a phone you sometimes without knowing buy it depending on who or what you associate with that phone, like celebrities, companies, or even a certain lifestyle. In our research we found out that people who like Instagram more than others will tend to have a Iphone, since they have built a correlation between these two things. Then comes reliability, I want to use a example that I found during my market research. When Blackberry came out and was emerging in the mobile phone industry, they where known for having good security and it was connected to people that want to protect there information and major business people. We are not using them as a role model we are using them as a example of failure. After there short lived success the other phones, such as android and the Iphone were able to do more things with these devices and Blackberry was not able to compete since they had a niche market for people who cared about security more then usefulness and more options. They quickly dropped out of the major mobile phone company names. Then there is reputation, the thing that decides what a companies reputation is by either there product having a whole bunch of good things being said about it or it is how long the company has been making a certain product for in that industry. The oldest companies in the mobile smart phone industries were started around 2007 to 2008. The first Iphone was made in 2007 and today it is one of the most well known companies today. We knew that we were newer than most companies in our industry, and SwagTech would have to gain a reputation by making a high quality product that would stand out from the rest of the industry. We gave our first device to as many people as we possibly could so that we could get our product and our company well known. As you can see from our past under our investors page, the idea worked extremely well.
Price:
Price is a factor that plays so many roles in your market, The average price for a smartphone today is around 800$. Our product is 650$ which is lower than most phones, but we want to gain as many customers as possible because if you price your product to high than the customers who don't spend as much as the other customer's will be lost. If you price your product to cheap on the other hand then your consumers will automatically assume that your product is not as high quality as your competitors products. The last thing you want your company being viewed as is a company who try's to cut corners and makes a device that is not a quality product. So we needed to find a price that can compete with your competitors and also be high enough to show this is something that they should spend their hard earned money on.
Promotion:
promotion is important because it is how you get it out there in a consumer market, it plays a very important role because without promotion no one would know about the product and there would be no sales. we are promoting our product in a few different ways including online giveaways, give away a phone to a few different people who have a large quantity of followers and a big reputation for giving accurate reviews and supporting good products. also, we are working with phone distributors like large chain stores like Walmart, BestBuy, Costco and also all network carriers that want a piece of the action. by doing this we make our product easily available to the people and gives us credit and reputation as a good and trustworthy company.
Place:
Place plays a major part in marketing since a company has to be in a place to reach their customers. We wanted to reach as many customers as possible, SwagTech saw that the best and biggest place to reach customers is the online or digital world/market. Today the majority of the world spends at least three to four hours a day on some form of the online world. So instead of just researching who are market was we also brought and in a way made our own market by going out and finding our consumer market. This would be difficult without the internet, our highly skilled marketing team here at SwagTech was able to find the best and most efficient way to find our consumers our create our consumers. Since our product is made at a price that is so much more competitive we wanted to keep our head quarters in the silicon valley in the United States. Doing so would give our consumers a better feeling since most oversea's products like Chinese phone companies have somewhat of a bad reputation. What we ended up doing is placing at least one large headquarters in each major country. By doing this we give the people in each area that feeling that we are a local company that you can trust, and not just some company that is trying rip you off from oversea's.
